Review: Shizen Ramen, Marikina City

image

Situated in Marikina City, Shizen Ramen obviously offers Japanese food like ramen, gyoza and salads. Ramen lovers should visit this restaurant because of their huge serving. Yung tipong kasing laki siya ng mukha mo or mas malaki pa sa mukha mo yung serving bowl nila. Man, I’m serious, walang halong biro. And hey, it is affordable, too!

We started our dinner with their mini version of Gyoza. For only Php80.00 you can have three pieces of it.

For the Ramen, I had their best-seller The Beast Ramen (Php229.00), a combination of beef strips, corn, chasyu and egg. The meat was tender, the broth was flavorful, the egg was perfectly cooked, and the sweetness of corn was good. No wonder why this is their best-seller. It was full-flavored! Sulit and byahe from Quezon City to Marikina City.

Once you try their ramen, you’ll look for it the next time the rain pours. Just like what happened two days ago, The Beast Ramen can be my comfort food for this crazy rainy weather.

Here are the other flavors you can try:
Chasyu Ramen (Php179.00) is a combination of four pieces of Chasyu, Wakame and Spring Onions.
image

Yakuza Ramen (Php199.00) is a combination of Beef Strips, Chili, Bean Sprouts, Tofu and Mushroom.

Tokyo Ramen (Php189.00) is a combination of Fish Cake, Bamboo Shoots, Kombu and Chasyu.

Review: Takami, Katipunan

Takami at The Yard, offers affordable and delectable Japanese foods. As per Lianne, Takami in Japanese means excellent. I thought they named it Takami because of the Filipino word nakakatakam (appetizing), but I’m wrong. Lesson learned: Don’t assume. Don’t assume, unless otherwise stated. #HugotIsLife 😁

Let’s start with their signature gyozas.
Beef Bulgogi Gyoza (P115) is good, but Buffalo Chicken Gyoza (P115) is better.
image

Beef Bulgogi’s sauce is so good! Sauce pa lang, ulam na. I know, it sounds familiar, right? But this is the perfect tagline for Takami’s Beef Bulgogi Gyoza e.

They also served Cheesy Bacon Okonomiyaki (P175). This is a Japanese pizza, a healthy version of pizza because the main ingredient here is cabbage and scallion. Ladies, perfect food for your diet! Also, it has Bonito flakes, a Japanese ingredient that will start to move when you add them to cooked foods. It can give an impression that they’re somehow alive.

Let me show you how cheesy teppanyaki is being torched.

Cheesy Beef Gyudon Teppanyaki (P150) is chewy and the sauce for this specific Teppanyaki is also good.

And lastly, the Cheesy Chicken Teppanyaki (P150).

Flatlay photo.

Takami is perfect place for the people who wants to try Japanese foods without splurging too much.
