Review: CHICKAPIG, Timog

Nowadays, there are so many exceptional food concepts that showcase family tradition and culinary passion. Chickapig is driven to inspire and indulge their customers by simply offering yummy food, adequate serving and an enjoyable atmosphere to make customers happy and contented. NO COMPLICATION. Just an easy-peasy straightforward menu.

Their chicken is surprisingly tender. The parmesan cheese and garlic brought a lot of flavor to their chicken wings.

ShieCaptures favorite is their crunchy bagnet sisig. Rice, please! Hahaha! It somehow reminded me that I cannot be a vegetarian. Hahaha! This is a must-try!! 🙂 So good! Please order this whenever you’re in Chickapig.

Here are the no complicated yummy foods of Chickapig.

All foods were yummy and wallet friendly. 🙂

Chickapig is located at 122 Timog Avenue, Quezon City.

Food Review: Concepto, Poblacion Makati

Concepto is a resto bar located in Poblacion Makati. This is a great spot for people who loves good and affordable food. Hey! Their ambiance is awesome too! But wait… there’s more! Hahaha! They also have live bands every thursday. Wow! Pretty cool, right?! Insert Daniel Padilla’s song 🎵 🎶 🎵 🎶 nasa kanya na ang lahat 🎵 🎶 🎵 🎶 Hahaha! For people like me who loves music, you will really appreciate this resto bar because of their live bands.

Let’s hurry now and check their palatable foods. Are you excited?

Concepto served their Balbacua. It was cooked for more than 5 hours. The reason why it was super tender and flavorful. #ShieCapturesTip – order a cup of rice because the sauce is so delicious. By the way, this dish is a bit spicy! As per the crew, Balbacua is also good for the hangover.

Concepto’s version of the Caldereta was also good! So good because of topped melted cheese and baked not fried veggies like potatoes and carrots. Sorry, I don’t have more words in my vocabulary to describe this better. HAHAHA So idadaan ko na lang sa extra OOOOOOOOOO for emphasis. Sooooo daaaaamn gooooood!!!! This dish made my heart and tummy so full and happy.

The Lechon Belly was yummy and crispy! It was roasted until crisp, served with soft tortilla and healthy veggies with three kinds of sauces.

The Steamed fish and mashed potato with local garden veggies is something you should try because of the calamansi caramel sauce.

And how can you say no to Liempo and fries? Hahaha.

The creamy bone marrow is something you wanna give a shot. Looook!

And for the dessert, Concepto gave us heavenly chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and macapuno.

For any reservations or event, all you need to do is message them on Facebook or call them at 09777296322. So what are you waiting for? Come and head over to Concepto to enjoy good and affordable food!

Review: Sibyullee, Ayala 30th

Sibyullee is the third restaurant concept brought to life by award-winning Korean restaurateur, Mr. Sung Rah and his Philippine parter, the Happyfoods Group of Restaurants. It joins Sariwon Korean Barbecue and Soban K-Town Grill in offering an array delicious and memorable Korean dining experiences to Filipinos.

Review: Mama Lou’s at 30th Mall

Aldous once again invited me to another foodie event at Mama Lou’s, 30th Mall.

The homey ambiance of this restaurant is perfect for the family and barkada’s gastronomic adventure. Here are the mouthwatering food that you’ll definitely enjoy!

A large 4 cheese Pizza.

A large Bianca Pizza.

Prawns Thermidor, simmered prawns in spring onions and brandy topped with a delicious creamy sauce.

Chicken Marsala, chicken breast fillet layered with prosciutto, pomodoro and mozzarella.

Risotto Tartufo Funghi, wild mushroom with truffle cream.

Mushroom Chicharon is my favorite! Their very own version of healthy chicharon.

Vesuvio, mountain of rigatoni, stuffed with mozzarella, ricotta, peas and Italian meatballs and egg.

Truffle Mac and Cheese, scrumptious and comforting original blend of cheeses and truffle cream over tender elbow macaroni, topped with melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

Bacon Poutine.

Spaghetti Con Tuyo Filleto, salted fish fillets with freshly chopped red tomatoes, arugula in garlic and olive oil.

And for desserts we had TakeThe Cannoli and Italian Tiramisu.

TakeThe Cannoli, it is a homemade cocoa-marsala shell filled with Italian mascarpone cheese, chopped pistachios and chocolate glaze.

Their version of Italian Tiramisu is a bit different because it has Baileys.

Shie Capture’s flat lay photos.

Mama Lou’s dishes are unquestionably delicious and good for sharing.

Review: Pitmaster’s Smokehouse BBQ

1506954004972.jpg

What started as an “ihaw-ihaw” barbeque concept of cousins Chef Raffy Sunico and Ben Donato has grown to a more technical “smoking” barbecue. Thanks to Chef Raffy’s extensive research and dedication to his craft. Pitmaster’s Smokehouse quickly became a home of mouthwatering smoked meats with the support of businessmen William Chia and his son William Chia Jr., Winston Lao, Willard Po, Jon Lao, Burgers and Brewskies owner Mike Floro, Robinson Laxa and Von Samson.

With hours of smoking using only local wood and unique blend of spices, Chef Raffy gives only the best variety of smoked meats which includes pork ribs, briskets, bacon slabs, chicken and even salmon. And his collection of homemade sauces such as Apple (sweet), East Capitol (spicy) and Hazelnut is truly genius.  Pitmasters Smokehouse is also serving local craft beers.

The group named this place After All to commemorate all those years that they’ve been together through thick and thin, and still enjoying good times together. Its a watering hole, a meeting place for friends, a place to talk about old jokes and funny things in the past, and what else to do “after all that we’ve beeb through.” I guess we just stick together, after all.

Novuhair: The gift of healthy ‘crowning glory’ fit for the queen this Mother’s Day

CLICHE it may be, but there’s indeed a woman behind the person we are today. And that’s no less than her—our mother. We used to call her nanay, inay, ‘nay, mama, mommy or simply mom. Needless to say, she deserves more than that given the pivotal role she fulfills in rearing us from childhood to adulthood and possibly for the rest of our lives.

There may be opposing beliefs whether that greater maternal instinct is biologically predetermined or socially imposed, but everyone would agree that a mother is hardwired to love and care about the whole family, especially the children, all the time. For better or worse, it’s always the welfare of everyone at home on top of her priority.

No wonder she’s an epitome of a doting human being that touches everybody’s life.

Still drooling over the ways on how to spend this time of the year again with her? Well, you may opt for the basics of gift-giving from simple trinkets to expensive items. But take note, your appreciation of her is not equated by the tag price of your present. It’s the thought that counts, as an adage says.

You may consider a set of hankies that will bring back the memory of her wiping out her tears of happiness upon knowing that she’s conceiving a li’l creature inside her womb. That’s you, of course. A loose yet comfy clothes shall make her remember that sort of a duster or preggy dress she wore in the laborious yet exciting “nine months” of gestation.

Why not a pillow that she could hug as tight as she embraced you after giving birth, or maybe a brassiere for protection of the very bosom she fed you with during infancy? A bed will bring to her mind your tot years when you started to crawl and roll over it freely.

Shoes are a girl’s best friend, too, like your mom. Either sky-high heels or flattering flats, there’s a pair to match every bit of her fantasy. For as long as it brings comfort to her feet, it’s more than enough to reciprocate the ease you had when you took your first walk with her guidance back then. If it isn’t her thing, though, a flip-flop will cause her to think that she also disciplined you through the proverbial “rule of slipper” hit on your buttocks while you were growing up.

Much to her delight, a bling ring will be worthy of your dear investment to show your deep appreciation of her just like when she never failed to recognize you with a pat on the back for simple good deeds or a job well done in your lifetime.

Stuck for an idea yet? Here’s a simple but meaningful token of gratitude that for sure will make a big difference and, eventually, pull off a surprise for the celebrant herself: The NOVUHAIR 3-in-1 pack which includes the topical scalp lotion, herbal shampoo and conditioner. Yes, you read it right.

Still not convinced enough, why don’t you spray a liberal amount of NOVUHAIR topical scalp lotion onto your mom’s scalp and massage it for five to ten minutes. You may not even know that with such a plain gesture of yours, it can melt her heart as it reminds her of the past when she used to do the same thing while you were still young, either as a trick to put you easily on a slumber or merely a relief every time you got sick. Those caressing hands of yours, likewise, imbibe your act of giving back the “natural care from mothers” like her.

Whatever impression it may have on her, what’s tangible she could gain is that you’re giving her nature’s gift of health. NOVUHAIR Topical Scalp Lotion is so unique that it combines 19 natural herbs, essential oils and co-factor nutrients––all working synergistically to help address hair problems from growth to vanishing. This breakthrough product helps to rejuvenate, nourish and maintain the moist of her tress from root to tip, aids in stimulating the growth of her hair and helps prevent it from excessive falling, while improving the overall appearance.

More than anything else, NOVUHAIR 3-in-1 pack may be one of the most precious gifts that your mom could ever receive in her entire life. Well, she’s the most important woman in your life after all. Hence, she deserves to be treated like a queen with that vibrant, bouncy and shiny “crowning glory.”

NOVUHAIR 3-in-1 pack is beyond compare. So, don’t think twice to wrap it as your present for her this Mother’s Day and, if ever, for life. Head on to any Mercury Drug and other leading drugstores to get a dose of nature’s answer to hair loss.  For inquiries, call 413-6570 or 0922-8830575, and visit http://www.novuhair.com for more details.
